Montague's 1st Woman Mayor has died

Mrs. Emma “Emmy” Masset of Montague, NJ - longtime resident of the area died Sat., July 26th at 91 years of age.

"She was a very active person in her community over the years. She was a member of St. James the Greater RC Church in Montague, NJ where she also served as President of the Rosary Society.  


          She was the Montague Elementary School PTA President                 and a Past School Board Member.


 She was a Montague Township Committee Member 

    and was elected the first Woman Mayor of Montague Township.      She was on the Sussex County Planning and Zoning Committee."

Miss Montague, Mina Lin, was the recipient of the People's Choice award. Miss Lafayette, Sophie Schaeffner, is the 2025 Queen of the Fair. The 1st runner-up title was awarded to Miss Newton, Danielle Penny, followed by Miss Sandyston, Aubrey White, 2nd runner-up.
