Pursuant to a legislation signed into law by Gov. Phil Murphy on August 21, 2020, the County will no longer use the term Freeholder. 

 Our county-level elected officials will now be known as  

 Sussex Co. Commissioners

For 2021, Dawn Fantasia is County Commissioner Director and Anthony Fasano is Deputy Director.

In Montague Township, 

since Re-organization of the Township Committee 

on Jan. 5th, 2021 -

 Richard Innella is Mayor and Toni-Lu Martin is Deputy Mayor.

The Montague Volunteer Fire Department moved their trucks into their new spacious firehouse!

On January 1, 2021

the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders

became the 

Sussex County Board of County Commissioners.
