A Combat Veteran’s Advice on How to Remember the True Meaning of Memorial Day

This day is not about anyone that has also served and is now a veteran, or is currently wearing the uniform.

This day was specifically set aside to honor those that perished while in the service of our nation - those that made the ultimate sacrifice and are no longer with their family, their comrades in arms, and their friends.

We honor those who currently serve on Armed Forces Day and hold them close in our thoughts & prayers, til they safely return unharmed to their loved ones and homes.

On Veteran's Day, we acknowledge all those who have served our country.

Ticks are currently very active!

Cases of babesiosis,
a parasitic disease spread through ticks, such as the blacklegged [deer] tick, are on the rise in the Northeast - in addition to Lyme disease.

While large ticks are more easily spotted,
at their early stage, a deer tick is quite small.

Even is your pets are treated against them,
they may still carry them into the home.

Don't simply flick them off, entrap [a tick will stick to tape but fold it over so it cannot escape] or crush the tick -  using a stone or hard object.
